Ms. Daryl Wood

My name is Daryl Wood. I am the facilitator of the programs
at Healing Rock unless otherwise specified. It is my intention to offer
a setting where individuals can feel emotionally safe.
To me, this means maintaining confidentiality and giving love
in the most non-judgmental way that I can.
I do not have the answers to other people's questions.
By creating a peaceful environment I can guide people inward and
support them as they reach into themselves.
Also, through the sharing of philosophies, stories and life
experiences I help to give insights and new understandings
that can change behaviour patterns and limiting beliefs.
The following information provides a brief look at some of my skills and
background.
I am a proud graduate of the Hoffman Quadrinity Process,
Women Living Consciously, The Shadow Process and other
programs that require intense
involvement from the participant.
All have had a profound effect
on my understanding and
acceptance of myself and my life.
I am the former editor and publisher of The Spirited Woman magazine
which ran for two years up to March 2000. It provided a forum
for women to express themselves on topics of spirituality,
personal growth and natural health.
I am a prolific writer working on several non-fiction and a poetry book.
My short articles, poetry and essays have been published on-line,
and newspapers and magazines throughout North America.
My work ranges from light, humourous tales with moral
outcomes to deep, introspective commentaries on
self-responsibility, humanity and love.
In September 2002 I published a self-empowerment book
for young people called I Am A Snowflake.
For workshops I sometimes write and record guided visualizations.
Trained and certified as a Reiki practitioner, I offer sessions
at the Retreat for guests and others seeking energy balancing.
I have studied meditation techniques including Transcendental Meditation.
These experiences have also helped me lead gentle healing circles.
My work has developed in part from studying the
enlightening works of many inspiring mentors including (but not limited to)
Caroline Myss, Joan Borysenko, Janet Quinn, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart
Tolle,
Deepak Chopra, Christiane Northrup, Debbie Ford, Cherie Carter-Scott,
Anne Wilson Schaef,
Louise Hay, Peace Pilgrim, Don Miguel Ruiz,
Rachel Naomi
Remen, Bob Hoffman,
Mona Lisa Schultz, Sarah Ban Breathnach, Gregg Levoy, Gary
Zukav, and many others.
Above all, I am a dedicated student in the school of life.
I have made a personal commitment to self empowerment and use a
gentle and loving approach to guide individuals in their search for self.
